We built bonds because of two things happening in our group chats at once: we were running fitness challenges with friends over iMessage and WhatsApp (photos of the gym, someone keeping the tally by hand, the whole thing dying by week two), and those same friends had started building artifacts/light webapps in Claude and ChatGPT and pasting the links into the chat to share a tracker, a poll, a trip split.
Apps made in a minute, shared in a chat that had no idea they existed. If AI can build software on demand, and our lives already live in group chats, the chat itself should be where the software appears. Not a link someone pastes. Not a bot. So we built the messenger we'd invent today.
Here's how it works:
1. Chat with your friends like always 2. When the chat needs an app, the AI generates it right there — say "30 days of gym, who's in?" and the chat gets a challenge: check in with a photo, the streak updates for everyone, the AI nudges whoever goes quiet 3. We're starting with fitness challenges because that's where "let's do this" dies fastest in a normal chat. Built by three friends who've been shipping together for over 10 years, no employees, we write the code ourselves. iOS, free, live today, and still early — rough edges included.

I like the idea of connecting different through the chats, the fitness strikes and groups otra pretty fun and I see me using it with my friends. What’s the idea of the apps ? To build something customizable ? Would like to know more about that
How nice! Is there a limit for apps per chat or something like that? It would be cool if the goals archieved were to be displayed on the profile, adding some kind of roles to the chat based on the historial of apps. Will download!
It seems very cool and useful. What is the max of people in the groupchat? And at some point will it be able to be applied to larger communities? I think it would be nice to have this platform for communities with common goals, having small chats for friends that also are part of the community.
Hey! I’m really excited to be building this with my friends around a problem we all felt ourselves!! For me, it really clicked when we realized two things:
(1) We already use AI everyday to think, work and build, but everytime we wanted to build something that involved my friends, there was still a lot of friction. Sending links, artifacts, TestFlight, explaining how to use it… most people around me are not living inside Claude or ChatGPT.
(2) At the same time, we realized we already use group chats for way more than just texting. We plan trips, organize things, track stuff, make decisions, share memories… but somehow we still force all of that into the same text bubbles.
Those two things clicked for me. What if the chat itself could have the intelligence and software, without making my friends learn a new way of doing things?
That’s what excites me the most about bonds. Still super early, happy to discuss or be challenged on any of it!!!

I think this solves a very real problem. In my friends’ group chat, we talk about everything: recommendations, trip plans, organizing each other’s birthdays, splitting expenses, spilling the tea… having all of that scattered across a single chat is honestly crazy, especially for girls with 300+ messages a day 😭
Could bonds eventually help organize all of this too, or is the vision more focused on fitness challenges?
Compared to adding an assistant into an existing chat (e.g., iMessage bots/agents like Tidy-style group assistants) or using a separate tracker app (e.g., Strava challenges / habit trackers), what’s the unique advantage bonds gets from being a full messenger—and what’s the biggest tradeoff you had to accept because of that choice?
the fitness challenge example feels very relatable. I’ve seen these things start with a lot of excitement and then disappear after a week because nobody wants to maintain the tracker.
The idea of apps appearing inside a group chat is pretty interesting to me. My group chats already contain polls, lists, screenshots, and random trackers anyway.
