For the first time ever, you can create production-ready mobile apps just by prompting. Bolt's integration with Expo eliminates the traditional barriers of mobile development by combining the power of React Native and Bolt's frontier AI agent.
Hi y'all, cofounder & CEO of bolt.new here! We have something special to share today: you can now create native mobile apps with Bolt! Go from idea to App Store just by prompting Bolt, no coding necessary.
To make this possible we partnered with Expo, creators of the best React Native tooling & ecosystem in the world. 🔥
To get started, on bolt.new just prompt "Build me a mobile app that ..." with your app idea.
love using this app!! what if we can immplement browser control within the app within its own window as some projects may need api's to function, it will go to the correct source and save time as it can have its own browser control to navigate to the api sites thats needed within certain projects
@ericsimons40 I use this frequently, but I prefer programming with Flutter. Unfortunately, when I ask to use the Flutter language, it says it's not supported.
I've been playing to no-code app builders. I've been using Loveable.dev... but today... I think for me this is a game changer. I'm going to start playing with bolt.new today. An app builder that can build an Android and IOS app. AMAZING! What should I build first!
I recommend the Bolt + Expo app – it's a real eye-opener for those who want to create mobile apps without having to write code! With Bolt's integration with Expo, you can turn your ideas into ready-made apps by simply entering queries.
Yeahh.. looks cool in the video however just does not work. Always throws errors and never starts to run, it is faster downloading the code and just running it locally yourself, however not even that builds.
Has potential. Good luck guys!
What about Sign In with Apple functionality?
Does the new native mobile app builder allow this to be built?
This is impressive, I just tried it, and loved the first experience! Going from idea to App Store just by prompting Bolt is one of the finest progress in the No-Code x AI segment, especially for non-developers and rapid prototypers. Partnering with Expo was a really smart move, as React Native's ecosystem is powerful.
I’m excited to see the creative apps people will bring to life using Bolt.
Congrats on the launch and Sending wins to the team :) @ericsimons40
@ericsimons40 As a Bolt user, I’ve already created multiple websites with it, and the process has been incredibly smooth. The ability to now build native iOS apps with just a prompt sounds like a game-changer! I’m curious—how much flexibility do I have if I want to tweak the AI-generated app before publishing? Can I modify the code or integrate custom APIs??
Bolt on first attempt to create a mobile app: "I notice that the project is missing some critical dependencies and the expo-cli is not installed" followed by continuously failing to install and initiate Expo. Kinda defeats the whole purpose.
I'm not quite sure if this can help me learn SwiftUI, or if I can just use this product to become an independent developer?
