Boardgammon
Provably fair backgammon with expert AI and analysis
Boardgammon is a modern, cross-platform table where every online roll is independently verifiable. Play instantly on web, iPhone, or Android; match with real players; challenge four AI levels; talk with optional in-game voice; then review every checker and cube decision with gnubg-powered analysis. Guided lessons, puzzles, regional variants, heritage-inspired boards, English checkers, and an 11-language interface round out the experience.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I built Boardgammon because online backgammon often asks players to trust an invisible dice generator and gives them little help understanding what happened after a match. I wanted a table that felt as warm and social as the real game, while making fairness and learning first-class features.
Every online roll uses a cryptographic commit–reveal process and can be verified after the match. The server validates every move, and the review shows performance rating, equity loss, cube errors, luck, and stronger alternatives. Players can also practice against four AI levels, follow lessons and puzzles, invite friends, use optional in-match voice chat, and explore heritage-inspired boards and regional variants.
Boardgammon is free and available in the browser, on iPhone, and on Android. It also includes English checkers and supports 11 interface languages.
I’d love your feedback—especially on the first-match experience, the fair-dice audit, and the post-game review. What would make you come back for a second game?
