I made Block Royale: Arena Capture because I’ve always liked territory games, but many of them felt a little too chaotic after a while.
I wanted to try making something that still feels competitive, but in a more calm and satisfying way.
Instead of fast free movement, everything happens on a block grid where each move matters. You slowly build your area, steal territory from other players, and upgrade your crown as you progress.
While building it, I kept asking myself:
“Can a competitive game also feel relaxing?”
That idea shaped the whole project.

As a solo developer, a lot of the work went into getting the small details right so the game feels smooth and rewarding moment to moment.
