Congress trades stocks. They're required to disclose. They're betting you don't care. Blind Trust turns those filings into a fantasy league — draft 12 lawmakers, earn points on their actual trades, and see exactly when they bought relative to the bills they voted on. All three branches. 16,000+ trades. Our editorial team writes the story when the timing is too good. Free to read. Free to play. Congress wishes it wasn't.

Hey PH, Sean here, I built Blind Trust with my fellow co-founders at DreamKey (and happy to answer any questions!) This started off just as a fun side project to build a database on publicly available info to test out our engine's content pipeline. I've always been fascinated by how the rules for insider trading are pretty intense for the general public but for the government they get to police themselves while voting on laws that can directly affect their holdings. They are SUPPOSED to disclose any trade within 45 days but if they miss that window they only have to pay a $200 fine. Transparency is crucial, but the sheer amount of data is cumbersome and unwieldy. We designed a way to track those trades via the STOCK Act disclosures while also being able to see how they voted on bills that would affect their holdings in an easy-to-read ticker view. We track when they bought or sold, when they voted, and when they disclosed — all on one graph. The charts alone made people angry and curious at the same time. But angry-and-curious doesn't make people come back. The fantasy league did. When you draft a lawmaker and they drop 44 trades in 90 days, you notice. You click. You read the story. The game mechanic doesn't water down the accountability mission — it's what makes people engage with it. One deliberate call we made: no "copy their trades" button. No portfolio tracker. No financial advice. This is a transparency product, not a fintech product. The trades matter because of what they reveal, not because you should replicate them. Buying stocks that your favorite Senator did 45 days ago and voted on 3 bills that affected that stock's industry before disclosing isn't sound financial advice. Ask me anything!

Who hunted Blind Trust?

Blind Trust was hunted by Sean Baptiste. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
