Every time you share a bill, medical report or bank statement to ask AI a question, the sensitive data such as name, account numbers, and address is also uploaded to a cloud server you don't control. BlankOut automatically detects and redacts sensitive information on your Android device using on-device AI. GPS & EXIF metadata stripped too. Your data never leaves your phone. AI gets only what it needs. Share a clean, redacted version of your document in one tap.
Hey Product Hunt, I am Ji-Ling, and I built BlankOut,
Every time I wanted AI to help me with a document, I'd hit the same wall. The medical report, insurance forms, or contract contains private info in it such as name, account number, address, etc. I didn't want to upload that directly to AI or any cloud server. So I'd either give up, or spend 10 minutes manually covering things with some photo editors.
That workaround is embarrassing. I'm literally hiding my data with my hand.
I built BlankOut to solve this pain. It's a one-tap, fully offline solution that redacts PII (personally identifiable information) from your document using edge AIs. It allows you to easily prepare a clean and more secure version of document to any AI. Strips GPS & EXIF metadata too.
Android only for now. 5 free usages per day. One-time purchase for permanent use.
Question for the PH community: Have you ever avoided asking AI something or done manual workarounds because of privacy concern?
Amazing idea! I tend to upload plenty of confidential docs onto ChatGPT and I’ve always worried about it 🙈🙈 does it happen all automatically to cover 100% or I would need to do some manual work? Thanks and congrats on the launch 🚀!!
