BirthdayBridge
Birthday reminders that fire in their timezone, not yours
Most birthday apps remind you at midnight your time. If your friend is in London and you're in Sydney, that fires at 9am your time — but it's 11pm the night before in theirs. Their birthday hasn't even started. BirthdayBridge finds the window where both of you are awake and fires the notification at the right moment — every year, automatically. No servers. No tracking. No subscription. Free to download. Built by a hobbyist iOS dev who kept missing the moment.
Hey! I'm Ben, a Business Analyst and hobbyist iOS developer based just outside Sydney.
I built BirthdayBridge because I lived in Seattle for three years and still have close friends scattered across the US, London, Paris, and India.
My problem wasn't remembering birthdays, I had reminders set! The problem was the reminder would fire and it wasn't actually their birthday yet in their timezone. I'd think "I'll remember to message them tomorrow." I never did.
BirthdayBridge scores every 30-minute window of a contact's birthday and finds the overlap where both of you are most likely to be awake. Set their timezone once and it handles the rest every year, including daylight saving.
Free to download with seven contacts included — two with the smart overlap window, the rest with a standard morning reminder. One-time unlock for unlimited, no subscription or ongoing costs.
Happy to answer any questions about how the overlap algorithm works, the SwiftData/CloudKit architecture, or anything else. Would love to hear from anyone who's had the same problem.

Who hunted BirthdayBridge?
BirthdayBridge was hunted by Ben. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
