I made Birthday Color as a quiet little public artwork for birthdays.
At first it was just a way to look up the color for a date, but I wanted each day to feel more personal. So every day has 120 small boxes, and anyone can claim one with a name and one sentence.
The line that guides the project is:
“This day means something to me, so I leave a line here.”
I’ve already seen a few tiny notes from strangers, and that changed how I think about the site. It feels less like a color lookup tool, and more like a small memory wall for time, birthdays, and ordinary lives.

I built Birthday Color as a small side project inspired by a simple question:
"What color is a meaningful day in my life?"
Every day of the year has its own unique color. But I wanted it to be more than just a color lookup website.
Each date includes only 120 permanent boxes. Anyone can leave their name and a single sentence on a day that matters to them.
A birthday, an anniversary, a memory, a milestone, or simply a date that means something special.
The limited number of boxes is intentional. I wanted each message to feel a little more meaningful and lasting.
My goal is to preserve these messages for as long as possible, so that over time each date becomes a small collection of memories, thoughts, and people connected by a shared moment in time.
No accounts, no followers, no algorithms.
Just colors, dates, and a few words from strangers around the world.
