Birthday Buddy, is a birthday reminder app that uses Apple Intelligence to give you words to start from for birthday messages, so that you're not the 5th person in the group chat to send a "Congrats ๐". Add birthdays manually or import them from your contacts in bulk. Choose when you want to be reminded, on the day or earlier, and pick the exact time that suits your schedule. Beside the standard tone for messages, there's a LinkedIn Guru or Gen Z tone, for when you need some extra inspiration.
The idea came from a simple problem: I kept being the guy sending "Congrats ๐" in the group chat five minutes after everyone else. So I built something that reminds you in advance and on the day itself. You can also use it for inspiration to write you a message that actually stands out from the groupchat, not just "Congrats ๐".
For the messages, beyond the standard tone, there are two others: LinkedIn Guru for when you want to wish someone a happy birthday the way LinkedIn influencers would, and Gen Z for the parents, uncles, and aunts who don't know how to speak Gen Z.
I'm mostly proud of the smooth birthday import, which makes adding birthdays from your contacts easy and the fact that the design fits right in with the new iOS 26 design language. It's also my very first app as a solo developer!
