Escape the digital noise with BirdTab. Each new Chrome tab delivers stunning bird photography, educational facts, and authentic bird songs - turning browsing breaks into mindful moments.
Hi Product Hunt community! 👋
I'm Jai, the creator of BirdTab. As a developer who spends countless hours behind screens, I often missed my connection with nature. That's when I had the idea: what if we could transform those countless new tabs we open daily into moments of natural discovery?
BirdTab was born from this simple idea. It's not just another new tab extension – it's a window to the natural world, right in your browser.
🔍What makes BirdTab special:
• Every tab opens a door to discover a new bird species
• High-quality photographs that capture each bird's unique beauty
• Authentic bird calls recorded in their natural habitat
• Educational content about each species
• Conservation status awareness
• Zero impact on browsing performance
🎯 Perfect for:
• Nature enthusiasts stuck at their desks
• Anyone seeking mindful breaks during work
• Bird photography lovers
• Those curious about wildlife
I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions! What features would you like to see? What birds have you discovered through BirdTab?
Thank you for your support! 🙏
Oh, this is such a great idea! Like others mentioned, it’d be awesome if we could choose animals besides birds too :)
What a refreshing idea, Jai! 🐦
As someone who opens way too many tabs every day, BirdTab feels like the perfect blend of beauty and mindfulness. I love how it turns a mindless habit into a moment of curiosity, calm, and connection to nature.
Congrats on the launch — excited to see what wings BirdTab spreads next! 🌿✨

I've been using BirdTab ever since it was in beta and it's my favourite chrome new tab extension ever :)
Been using this for sometime! The lovely shots of birds taken by Jai and then the knowledge alongside just works like icing-on-top! Love the feel of opening new tabs with this ^_^ 🐦
Stress melted away with each tab! How's performance impact? Does it slow tab loading compared to default Chrome?
Adding bird photography and songs to browser tabs helps users relax effortlessly during quick browsing breaks. This is a great concept!
It's like bringing nature into our computer. Do the birds that appear on the tab change everyday?
Love this idea. I get overwhelmed very easily while working and have a habit of picking up my phone and doom scrolling. My work gets affected very easily due to this. Glad to have found this. Never did a thought like this come to me that looking at birds could be peaceful. Can I change animals as well? Like, I love hamsters and cats so would love to have them as well! Congrats on the launch!
Congrats on the launch, Jai! BirdTab is a unique way to bring nature into our daily routines. Looking forward to seeing how it enhances the browsing experience!
This idea is far better than some services showing "interesting facts text" in loading screen. Just pitching an idea here - since there are many dog-persons and cat-persons out there, I'd love to see the sequel of this extension for dog/cat persons :)
This extension stands out from the range of products I normally see here. Are you somehow "connected" to ornithology? :)
[I could see there possibility for other animals. Also as a didactic tool for schools or for studying purposes.] :)
Congrats on the launch! BirdTab is such a refreshing idea—turning something as ordinary as a new tab into a small, meaningful break. The blend of bird photography, sounds, and facts feels thoughtful without trying too hard. It’s a nice reminder to slow down, even for a few seconds.Curious—how do you choose the bird content? And do you see this growing into something more personalized or interactive over time?
