Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Shane, and I built Beyond Payday.

I gave up on finance apps years ago. The bank connections broke constantly, and all they really did was sort transactions. None of them answered the questions I actually had: Can we afford the bigger house? What if I take the new job? What happens if one of us loses an income? Are we on track to retire? So I ran my household's money from a spreadsheet for 15 years, and it kept growing.

Beyond Payday is that spreadsheet, rebuilt as a real planning engine:

• What-if planner: try a new job, a bigger house or a new car before you commit, and see what changes in what's left each month and your net worth
• Save money: hand-written tips for bills you could cut or negotiate down, and a way to rate which "wants" are worth it
• True Cost: see any price in hours of work, in the app or as you shop with the browser extension
• SHTF plan: if the paycheck stopped, how long your money lasts, and which cuts, benefits and sales would stretch it
• Savings goals, plus a debt payoff planner (avalanche vs. snowball) with a debt-free date
• Retirement to age 100 with Social Security, pensions and up to 10,000 Monte Carlo runs (Pro)
• Beth, an AI assistant that answers questions using your own numbers (Pro), and a connector so ChatGPT or Claude can work with your plan too

It's built for the whole household: share it with your spouse, and give kids limited access. It runs on the web, iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android and Windows. No bank linking, ever: you enter your numbers, and the math does the rest.

The free plan has no time limit and covers everything above except retirement projections and Beth. New accounts get a 30-day Pro trial, no credit card required. Setup takes about 20 minutes to start with a paycheck and a few bills, an evening for the complete picture, and about 15 minutes a month after that. There's a live demo with a sample household: https://beyondpayday.com/demo?ref=producthunt

US-only for now. I'd love your honest feedback, especially on what's missing for your household. I'll be here all day answering questions.

Take a look around, and I highly recommend our 2 minute overview video on the homepage: https://beyondpayday.com/?ref=producthunt
