betterMQ is an open-source, self-hosted HTTP message broker for durable job execution, scheduling, flow control, and reliable webhook delivery. Most job systems need a queue, workers, scheduler, retry layer, rate limiter, and monitoring stitched together. betterMQ combines messaging, scheduling, flow control, and delivery into one deployable service — no workers to poll. You enqueue over HTTP; betterMQ stores jobs durably and pushes them to your webhook URLs.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I’m Rahul, maker of betterMQ.
I built this because reliable background jobs shouldn’t mean running seven services — queue, workers, scheduler, retries, rate limits, webhook sender, monitoring. I wanted one thing I could self-host, hit over HTTP, and trust to deliver signed webhooks with cron, delays, and DLQs built in.
betterMQ is push-only: your app enqueues a job; betterMQ delivers it to your HTTPS endpoint. No polling workers. Think QStash-style ergonomics, but self-hosted and open source.
Try it in ~60 seconds:
curl -fsSL https://bettermq.com/install | bash
bettermq serve
Then open the panel, create a token, and POST your first job to /v1/enqueue.
I’d love your feedback on:
Does the HTTP-only API feel right for your stack?
What’s missing vs your current queue/scheduler setup?
Self-host vs managed — what would make you switch?
GitHub issues welcome. Thanks for checking us out — happy to answer anything in the comments.
