I built BestAppify because my own Shopify app was invisible and I couldn't figure out why. The App Store gives developers almost zero data - you can't even see where you rank for a search term without checking by hand, in incognito, every day.
So I started crawling the store myself. That crawler now covers 10,800+ live apps and 2,390+ search terms, daily. Some of what it found changed how I think about the marketplace: more than half of rated apps show a perfect 5.0, and the median one has just 3 reviews behind it. 45% of the store has never been reviewed at all. And keyword difficulty varies about 100x between terms.
