I built Benchmark for myself initially after I grew tired of trying to use google sheets in the gym. I didn't want to carry pen and paper, and I found other gym apps too complicated and had social media elements and a hefty subscription.
After the free trial, Benchmark is pay once, free forever.
I wanted something that opens quickly, shows me what I lifted last time, and is easy to use. So I built that, and I've been logging my own training in it ever since.
How it works:
- Last session's weight is already in each box, in grey. Tap Done and the set is logged at that weight.
- Every exercise gets a chart of your heaviest set, so you can see whether you're actually getting stronger.
- It works with no signal. Basement gyms are fine, and it saves when you're back online.
How you pay:
- You pay once. No subscription, no ads, no tracking.
- The free week starts the first time you log a session, not when you sign up.
- If you don't buy, nothing is held back: you can still read every session, see every chart and export the lot. You just can't add new ones.
- Refund within 14 days, no reason needed.
It's a web app. Sign in with Google and put it on your home screen, and it opens full screen like any other app.

Who hunted Benchmark?
Benchmark was hunted by Jacob. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
