I’m the founder of Bemi, and my relationship with dating apps is personal—I actually met my wife on one.
Having spent years using almost every dating platform out there, I noticed a fundamental flaw that has only gotten worse: the paralysis of infinite choice. Unlimited matches lead to match hoarding, dead-end conversations, and dating burnout. People are constantly looking over their shoulder for the "next best profile."
I built Bemi to fix the modern dating loop by forcing intent:
The 5-Match Limit: You can only hold 5 active matches at a time. This concentrates your focus and drastically improves conversation quality instead of juggling dozens of dead chats.
The Swap Feature: Discovery never stops, but when you get a 6th match, you have to make a choice. Swap them with one of your current 5, or pass. This tradeoff forces active prioritization—turning passive match collection into real decision-making.
We soft-launched Bemi last week and were blown away to hit 2,000 active users in our first 7 days. The engagement proves people are ready for a shift toward intentional dating.
