I built this because TV Time's shutdown finally annoyed me into it. Every tracker I tried treated the reminder as an afterthought — a setting buried three menus deep, an email you never open — when the reminder is the entire reason I wanted the app. So Belfry is built the other way round: the bell is the product.
It's been live since the end of July. Sixty-odd members so far, and the best bugs we've fixed came from them — one filed a Trakt import report on a Saturday that turned out to be a real gap; it shipped the same weekend. So please break it, and tell me when you do.
Some honest notes, since I'd rather you hear them from me:
The TV app is real and on Google Play today (search "Belfry" on a Google TV). Fire TV is next — I'm testing on a Fire Stick this week — and a proper iPhone/Android app is in build.
We can't sync back to Netflix. Nobody can — no streaming service offers a public watchlist API, which is exactly why a neutral list that spans all of them is worth having. Plex and Jellyfin sync is live and free, because those have real APIs: finish an episode on your server, it's marked here.
No IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes scores. We're not licensed for them and won't pretend otherwise. You get TVmaze and TMDB ratings, labelled honestly.
Lifetime founding access is $79 because I'd rather fund the roadmap with a few hundred founding members than sell your attention to advertisers. No ads, ever.
