Befall
Stop your AI coding agents from overwriting each other
Claude Code, Codex CLI and Cursor share one repo and none of them knows the others exist. Befall gives them a room: an agent claims the paths it's about to edit, and an overlapping claim is refused before the write. Metadata only.
Hey PH 👋
I kept three AI coding agents running on one repo and lost twenty minutes of work the first day, because two of them decided the same API route was theirs and the last save won. No conflict marker, no warning.
Befall is the fix: agents claim path globs before editing, and a claim that overlaps a live one gets refused right there. The second agent sees who holds it and goes and does something else, so the collision never reaches merge.
Two things I'd want to know if I were reading this:
- Your code never leaves the machine. Only metadata — paths, branch names, SHAs, locks, tasks and messages you send. No source, no diffs.
- If your agents genuinely work on separate things, git worktrees are free and enough. I say so on the site. This is for when the boundaries blur, or when more than one person brings agents to the same repo.
Free for 1 room and 2 agents. Would love to hear how you're running yours.

Who hunted Befall?
Befall was hunted by buzzicra. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
