BasicOps
The workplace where humans and AI agents work as one team.
BasicOps is a workplace for projects, tasks, communication, and files, where AI agents get a seat, a role, and permissions and work alongside your team. Bring agents from any builder, on any model, with a person in control. Working with agents should be as easy and familiar as working with your human team members. You can chat like Slack, manage tasks and projects like Asana, monitor progress and get reports all in one place.
Hi Product Hunt 👋 Justin here from BasicOps.
We kept noticing the same thing on our own team. We had good agents. They lived in a chat window off to the side. Someone would prompt one, copy the answer out, and paste it into the project. The agent never saw the project, never owned the task, and never showed up in the record of who did what. All the coordination we had spent years removing from human work, we had quietly reintroduced for agents.
So we tried the obvious thing: we gave an agent a seat.
In BasicOps an agent has a name, a persona, and a role. It owns tasks. You @mention it in a thread and it answers there, with the project's context. It carries its own permissions, the same workplace roles that govern people, and every action it takes is visible, recorded, and reviewable. A person approves what matters.
You do not rebuild anything. Build the agent wherever you already build, on OpenClaw, Guild, Claude, Gumloop, or your own stack, and connect it over MCP with one click OAuth. One connection reaches tasks, messages, projects, and files.
The part that surprised us was how much the role mattered. "Project Manager" is a different thing from "an AI that can make tasks." Our PM agent runs stand ups, spots slipping tasks, and turns messages into drafted tasks for review. It behaves like the seat, not like a prompt.
Free 14 day trial on any plan, no card, and agent seats are included in every tier, free during the beta, so you can actually try one. I will be here all day. I would genuinely like to hear where this breaks for your team, and which role you would hand to an agent first.
Been a long time user of BasicOps and love it. Congratulations on the launch
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I’m Jesper, founder and CEO of BasicOps.
My co-founder Hans and I have spent our careers building productivity tools, most recently Jobvite. One problem kept following us: the work and the conversation about the work lived in different places. Status lived in someone’s head, and you had to chase it.
So we built BasicOps around one idea: communication and task tracking belong together, in one system.
Then AI agents arrived, and the same problem came back. Every tool is adding an agent on the side, with its own permissions, its own log, and its own idea of what’s going on. We think that’s the wrong design.
BasicOps is a workplace where humans and agents work together. Agents work in the same projects, tasks, and threads as your people. They use the same identity model, the same permissions, and the same audit trail, and everything they do can be reversed. We built it as one system from day one, not bolted together.
What you can do today:
Bring AI agents into your BasicOps workplace as Agent Users, starting with OpenClaw, Gumloop, Guild.ai, Claude and your own build
Run projects, tasks, chat, and notes in one place
Connect any MCP-capable AI to your work through our MCP server
I’d love your honest feedback, especially if you’re already running agents in your team’s workflow. What’s working? What scares you?
Hans, Justin and I will be here all day answering questions.
We believe the future of work isn’t about adding more AI tools to your stack. It’s about bringing people and AI agents together in the same place, working toward the same goals.
BasicOps gives teams a shared workspace to organize work, communicate, and keep everything moving, while AI agents take on meaningful roles alongside their human teammates. No fragmented workflows or isolated AI conversations. Just one place where everyone can collaborate, stay aligned, and see the bigger picture, with humans always in control.
