BaseTab turns your browser's empty new tab into a dashboard you arrange yourself. Drag in 30+ widgets: notes, to-dos, Kanban, Pomodoro, bookmarks, weather, Google Calendar, Gmail, and chat with Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini. Missing a widget? Describe it in plain words and AI builds it for you. Keep separate workspaces for work and life, share one with your team, and pick a background that feels like home. Free forever, works without an account, and asks for site access only when a widget needs it.
The new tab is the page most of us open more than any other, and it does nothing. Meanwhile the day is spread across a dozen other tabs: calendar, Gmail, a to-do app, notes, an AI chat…
So we turned that blank page into a dashboard you arrange yourself:
🧩 30+ widgets: notes, to-dos, Kanban, Pomodoro, bookmarks, weather, news, GitHub, Spotify and more. Drag, drop and resize them on a free-form grid.
✨ AI widget builder: describe a widget that doesn't exist yet ("a minimal countdown to Friday") and AI builds it for you. It runs in a sandbox, and you can edit or regenerate it.
💬 Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini in a widget, with your own API key or BaseTab AI credits.
📅 Google Calendar and Gmail, right on the tab.
🗂️ Separate workspaces for work, personal and study, and shared spaces for your team.
A few things we cared about:
• It works without an account, and offline.
• At install it only asks for access to basetab.ai. Other sites are requested only when a widget needs them.
• Free forever: one workspace, every built-in widget type, the free backgrounds. Pro adds AI credits for the AI builder, unlimited workspaces, team seats and every theme.
🎁 For the Product Hunt community: 25% off Pro for your first month with code BASETAB25, until Nov 30.
Want to look around before installing? basetab.ai/dashboard runs right in your browser.
We'd love your honest feedback. Which widget should we build next? We're here all day.
Does the Pomodoro widget keep running if I close the tab by mistake? that's usually where these break for me.
One of the most practical extensions I’ve come across! Having my favorite tools and daily tasks right in a new tab makes it so much easier to stay focused and keep track of everything...
The best extension I have ever tried. Being able to organize everything on my browser's homepage stops me from missing anything.

BaseTab AI was hunted by Bugrahan Zeki Kadak.
