I play bass and drums in a few bands, and BandBinder started because our rehearsal notes never survived past rehearsal. We'd work out an arrangement change, someone would jot it in a group chat or a paper binder, and by the next gig it was gone. Meanwhile the setlist lived in one app, the charts in another, and half the band was on Android while someone else swore by their iPhone.
OnSong is great if your whole band is on Apple. SongbookPro is the real cross-platform benchmark and I have a lot of respect for it. Neither is really built for the part where a song changes shape - the notes you scribble mid-rehearsal that decide how you actually play it live.
