I built Backlink Vigil because acquiring a backlink is only half the job. As a link builder, I’ve seen links that were live at delivery later disappear, change anchor text, or become nofollow. Keeping track of every placement in a spreadsheet and checking each page manually doesn’t scale.
Backlink Vigil monitors the links you’ve already acquired. It checks whether they’re still live, tracks changes to anchor text, link type, and placement, and keeps a history of what changed and when. When a link appears to be lost, it runs additional checks to help avoid false alerts from temporary page issues.
You can organize links by project and builder, record costs, import links in bulk, and receive alerts when confirmed changes need attention. There’s a free plan for up to 10 backlinks, so you can try it with your own placements.
