Hey! I'm Sparsh, the guy behind BackendEngineer.in 👋
I built this because learning backend engineering always felt scattered - a YouTube video here, a random blog post there, a textbook nobody actually finishes. I wanted one place that explains things simply, shows how real companies actually solved scaling problems (Netflix, Discord, Stripe - not made-up examples), and lets you build with your hands instead of just reading.
It started small - just plain-language lessons on stuff like "what is a server" and "what is an API." Then I added real breakdowns of company engineering blogs, so you see the actual decisions, not just theory. And the part I'm most excited about: a System Design Canvas, where you drag and drop an architecture, throw traffic at it, and literally watch it break - so bottlenecks aren't something you imagine, they're something you see.
Try the Canvas first, that's the fun part. Would love to know what you think, and what's missing!
Congrats on the launch! Backend Engineer's focus on backend engineering, explained visually really stood out to me. It is a clear, practical value proposition, and the focused execution makes it easy to understand who this is for. Wishing the team a great launch!
