AvenueEasy imposes structure on the chaotic universe of NYC Facebook housing groups! Through scraping and GPT magic, we pull listings from numerous groups and allow you to filter by price, location, neighborhood, etc - a task that was painstakingly manual!
The inception of our side project, AvenueEasy, was born out of sheer frustration. My friends and I have spent inordinate amount of time navigating the labyrinth of disorganized Facebook housing groups, manually tracking listings in Google Sheets. Despite the chaos, Facebook groups remain a goldmine for both short and long-term housing inventory, particularly for those on the hunt for roommates. Yet, the lack of order made this resource hard to tap into. Hence, we created this!
We are currently scraping data from more than 25 Facebook groups on a daily basis, parsing this wealth of information through GPT.

There are hard engineering problems. Then there's finding an apartment in NYC. Appreciate @sanketchauhan for trying to make this easier! I'd love to see more chat gpt integration and deeper qna about each place using more data sources like neighborhood data, transit, google maps POIs, etc.
