Aventurine is a local-first, offline, private finance app that gives you tools to better understand your finances and work towards achieving your financial goals.
Hello everyone, this is Alek, founder of Aventurine.
The privacy crowd is severely under-served when it comes to finance and budgeting tools. I have been keeping my personal finances in an Excel Spreadsheet for the last 7+ years because I don't trust third-party services with my banking credentials or my personal financial information. Those apps also lack the rich insight that I need to make the best decisions. I wanted the polish and power of SaaS budgeting apps but the privacy and flexibility of a local database that never touches the internet.
So I built Aventurine! Aventurine is a private personal finance tracker that puts privacy and self-custody first without compromising modern features and polish.
Using Aventurine is easy. Simply import your transactions into the app via any export your bank already provides. (CSV, Excel, OFX, QIF, JSON, and more)
Aventurine will automatically detect merchants, remove noise from the transaction description, and categorize your transactions. This means all the tedious work that you might expect with a local-first solution is largely automated! The user will just need to do some tidying up to make sure their rules and matches are set correctly going forward.
Aventurine comes with powerful reports and tools to help you truly understand your finances - Reports like Cash Flow, Spending Trends, and a Recurring Spending calendar. And there is a lot more in the works that will be added! The goal for Aventurine is to be THE privacy-first money management suite.
Another great thing - aside from the peace-of-mind and privacy - is the price! Monthly and Annual subscriptions are a nuisance to deal with for the privacy-minded and the frugal. Aventurine is a flat, one-time purchase for software that you get to keep forever.
On top of that, your data is stored in a local, standardized SQLite file. So if Aventurine ever goes away, you will still have access to all of your data and can query or migrate it in the future to another app.
Thank you for taking the time to check out the project! Your feedback means a lot to me and tells me how I can better serve the audience. Let me know what you love and what could be better!

Who hunted Aventurine?
Aventurine was hunted by Alek. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
