Hi Product Hunt 👋
AutoFling began with a simple question: could the repetitive manual loading of a traditional slingshot be replaced by a compact, purely mechanical system?
What looked simple at first became a long engineering process. We experimented with multiple prototype generations, adjusting the feed geometry, magnetic strength, pouch alignment, friction points, and release consistency. Small tolerance changes could determine whether the next round seated smoothly or failed completely.
The G5 is the result of that iteration. It combines a gravity-fed quick-load magazine with a magnetic pouch, a CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum frame, a mechanical release aid, and an integrated accessory rail.
An earlier Gen4 design also helped us learn from the maker community, but G5 was redesigned as a more refined CNC platform for adult recreational target practice.
We’re sharing AutoFling here because we believe physical products can still embody the same experimentation, iteration, and obsessive craftsmanship that goes into great software.
