Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Vidyadhar, founder of Reinforcement Analytics, and today I'm excited (and a little nervous!) to launch **ArthaDNA** 🚀 ArthaDNA started with a question I struggled to answer myself: **“Given where I am financially today, what should I do next with my money?”** There are thousands of mutual funds, ETFs, stocks and other investment choices available to Indian investors. We have great apps for investing, tracking portfolios and watching returns. But I felt something was still missing. **Before choosing an investment, shouldn't we first know where we're trying to go?** That's why ArthaDNA starts differently. You begin with something everyone understands — **your monthly expenses, your current age and when you'd like to become financially independent.** ArthaDNA factors in inflation to estimate your **Financial Independence (FI) number** — the corpus you may need to support your future lifestyle. Then the questions become much more meaningful: → How much should I be investing? → Where should I begin? → Am I on track? → How might this approach have behaved historically? → If I already have investments, are they actually helping me get there? For existing investors, ArthaDNA can go deeper across Mutual Funds, ETFs, stocks, NPS, FDs, PPF and other holdings — looking at allocation, costs, diversification, overlaps, concentration, performance and portfolio health. We also test investment approaches against **up to 10 years of historical market data**, not to predict the future, but to give investors additional context about how a strategy would have behaved through different market conditions. One thing became very clear while building ArthaDNA: **A 25-year-old starting their first investment journey should not receive the same experience as a 45-year-old building wealth, a 58-year-old preparing to retire, or a 68-year-old managing retirement.** So we're building ArthaDNA around the investor's **life stage and destination — not around selling the next financial product.** A few principles have guided us: 🎯 Start with Financial Independence, not products 🇮🇳 Built specifically for Indian investors 🤖 Use AI to simplify complexity, not hide it 📊 Keep financial calculations explainable 🧪 Use historical testing to add context, not promise future returns 🔒 No broker login required 💰 Build around investor decisions rather than product commissions And perhaps most importantly: **ArthaDNA is bootstrapped.** We've built the platform without external funding, learning directly from real investor portfolios and continuously refining the decision framework. Today isn't the finish line. It's actually the point where we'd like to open the product to a much wider group of users and learn faster.
