ARevo Scanner
See what a file really is, not what its extension claims
ARevo Scanner uses AI (Google's open-source Magika) to identify a file's real type from its content, not its name. Spot polyglot files, check entropy, get MD5/SHA-1/SHA-256 hashes with VirusTotal links, and scan whole ZIPs. Try it free, no signup.
Hi Product Hunt! I'm Riky 'ARevo Team', an indie developer from Spain, and this is my first launch here. Why I built it: a file's extension is just a label, and labels lie. A ".pdf" can be an executable, and a single file can be valid as two formats at once (polyglots). I wanted a quick way to see what a file really is without installing anything. Some bad experiences opening files early on prompted me to investigate and create this project. What ARevo Scanner does: * Detects the real file type from its content using Magika, Google's open-source AI model * Flags polyglot files * Measures Shannon entropy to hint at packed or encrypted content * Generates MD5 / SHA-1 / SHA-256 hashes with direct VirusTotal lookups * Scans ZIP archives file by file * It is multilingual Pricing: you can use it right away without an account. A free account adds history and a dashboard, and Pro is €5/month. I'd love your honest feedback: what file types or checks would you want to see next? I'll be here all day answering every comment.
