Free, Web colour correction for underwater photos and video
Aqura FX is a free browser-based tool for correcting the colours of underwater photos and videos. It was originally built for divers and photographers working around the Red Sea, where we constantly saw the same problem: the camera records the underwater environment very differently from how we remember seeing it. Aqura FX tries to bring those colours back.
What makes it different?
The processing happens directly on the user's device.
Photos and videos aren't uploaded to a server, and there is no account or subscription required.
The tool includes standard colour correction as well as an optional AI "True Colour" mode that estimates depth and water characteristics before processing the image.
It also supports video, batch photo processing, social-media crops, backscatter reduction and custom watermarks.
Why we built it
We wanted something our own divers could use without having to install complicated software or upload their personal photos to an online service.
We're releasing it free because we'd rather have people use it, test it and tell us where it needs improvement.
What we're looking for
Aqura FX is currently v1.
We're particularly interested in difficult images and edge cases where the processing doesn't behave as expected.
