AppyShift unifies scheduling, time tracking, onboarding, communication, and optional payroll for restaurants, retail, clinics, hospitality, and other hourly teams. Managers publish schedules, handle callouts and coverage, approve timesheets, and forecast labor costs, while employees check shifts, swap or pick up shifts, clock in, and complete paperwork in one app. Keep your payroll provider or run payroll in AppyShift so approved hours become pay without retyping.

I’ve spent many years working in the payroll and HR space alongside businesses that rely on hourly teams. Over that time, I kept hearing the same frustrations. Managing employees had become unnecessarily complicated. Hours might come from the POS, scheduling happens in another system, payroll is somewhere else, recruiting requires another platform, and then there are separate tools for communication, onboarding, and everything else. Before long, a business is juggling five or six different applications just to manage one workforce. I kept coming back to the same question: Why does managing an hourly team have to be this complicated? That question became the motivation behind AppyShift. I wanted to build something that brought those pieces together while still being affordable for the small and growing businesses that need these tools the most. But I also didn't want “all-in-one” to mean forcing businesses to completely change how they operate overnight. AppyShift is modular by design. Turn on what works for your business today, and grow into the rest when you're ready. A business might start with scheduling and time tracking, then expand into recruiting, onboarding, employee communication, recognition, payroll, and other capabilities as their needs grow. At the same time, AppyShift packs a punch. We're bringing capabilities into the platform that businesses often have to look elsewhere for, including built-in two-way SMS, recruiting, employee recognition, customized employee onboarding, government forms, and more. One of the things I’m most excited about, though, is actually listening to the people using AppyShift. Some of the best ideas aren't going to come from us sitting in a room deciding what businesses need. They're going to come from owners, managers, and employees using the product every day. When a customer tells us, “You know what would make this easier?” I want that conversation to matter. If it's something that solves a real problem and can benefit other AppyShift customers, I want us looking for ways to deliver it. I also built AppyShift with integrations in mind from the beginning. I don't expect AppyShift to exist on an island, and I don't believe a business should have to abandon every system it already likes just to use ours. The long-term vision is for AppyShift to remain open to integrations while we continue adding more capabilities directly to the platform. And through all of that, affordability matters to me. Our pricing is upfront. I don't want AppyShift to become one of those platforms where every feature we add suddenly becomes another paid add-on. As we add capabilities, my goal is to continue giving customers more value while maintaining an affordable price. There will be some exceptions when there's a direct cost we have to pass along, such as SMS usage, payroll checks, or certain payroll-related services. But those should be the exception, not the business model. Ultimately, I built AppyShift because I believe hourly businesses deserve something better: One affordable, connected platform that can grow with them, works with the tools they already use, listens to the people actually using it, and keeps getting better without constantly adding to the bill.
