Appwrite was born out of a deep frustration with the complexity of app development. From the beginning, our mission has been to simplify the developer experience and make it easier to build secure, scalable, and modern applications, without the headaches.

For years, Appwrite has offered everything you need to power your backend, from databases and authentication to storage and serverless functions. But one major piece was always missing: hosting your frontend.

Until now.

Today, we're excited to introduce Appwrite Sites, the easiest way to deploy and host your websites and web apps directly inside Appwrite. No more context-switching between services, wrangling with third-party integrations, managing extra accounts, and paying for more subscriptions. Build, deploy, and go live, all from one unified platform.

With Sites, Appwrite becomes the first fully open-source development platform to offer an end-to-end experience, all under one roof. Whether shipping static websites, server-rendered apps, or complex full-stack products, you now have one place to do it all. Seamlessly. Securely. Effortlessly.

This launch is about more than convenience. It’s about continuing our commitment to give developers the tools they need to move fast and stay focused on what matters most, creating amazing experiences.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and even more excited about what’s ahead. As always, your feedback has been instrumental in shaping Appwrite’s platform, and we can’t wait to hear what you think.

As someone developing a social media management tool, it's inspiring to see innovative solutions like Appwrite Sites making deployment smoother for developers. Wishing the team continued success and looking forward to seeing how this evolves!

Appwrite is a paradigm shift towards no code app development!! that too opensource!!

Very interesting, and much needed right now - a full stack site + application stack where I don't have to connect disparate components together. Question - will your migrations service now include migrations from other site hosting options (Vercel / Framer / Webflow etc)? I know we can migrate application data to Appwrite, but will be great to migrate sites as well!

Appwrite is a really cool product!! Simplifies a lot of the repetitive operational work around building apps and launching products. Combine Appwrite with the Vibe coding tools and you've got lightning in a bottle!! Love the product

I am interested to contribute in Open source. And what is domain of a deployed application?

@eldad_fux Really interesting project excited to check it out! Deploying projects and sites on railway has always caused some frustration with the connection of various components whether it be dbs and apis. Appwrite seems to solve a majority of these integration issues. Excited to check it out and experiment! Product Hunt is always the place to find new cool tools can't wait to launch my product!

Really impressed by Appwrite Sites' approach as an open-source alternative to Vercel! The ability to have complete control over our deployment infrastructure while maintaining a streamlined workflow is exactly what many developers have been waiting for.

Btw, I'm curious though - for those who have tried both, what specific advantages have you found in Appwrite Sites compared to Vercel in terms of customization and deployment flexibility?

Okay, we had the official launch announcement today. But I'm so excited for our LIVE DEMO tomorrow. It's one thing to talk about it and another to actually see Sites in action (May 20th at 12 PM EST)

ROUND OF APPLAUSE TO OUR TEAM! Can't wait for the world to see all of your hard work 🎉🎉🎉

This is an exciting update! Appwrite Sites looks like the perfect solution to simplify the development process even further by consolidating everything under one roof. The ability to deploy and host websites and web apps directly within Appwrite is a major time-saver and will definitely make life easier for developers.

I love the all-in-one approach - no more juggling multiple services and accounts. What kind of performance optimizations have been implemented for scaling larger apps with heavy traffic? And are there any plans to support more complex server-rendered frameworks or integrations with popular frontend libraries like React or Next.js?

Looking forward to seeing how Appwrite Sites evolves! Great work so far! 🚀

Congrats on the launch, it truly looks amazing! 👏🏼

Very excited to see the admin template built with react-admin in action!!
