AppLoop is a local-first visual builder for generated Next.js apps. Create projects from templates, run them in live previews, visually select exact UI elements, and ask Hermes to make targeted source-code changes. Each project has its own workspace, runtime, persisted AI conversation, theme settings, checkpoints, logs, and local SQLite state. - https://github.com/josoroma/AppLoop
I built AppLoop because prompting an AI to modify a running application often lacks precise visual context. You can describe a button or section, but the agent may still edit the wrong component or apply the change too broadly.
AppLoop connects the live Next.js interface directly to the AI workflow. You can open Inspect mode, select the exact element you want to change, and send its classname, selector, route, and surrounding metadata with your prompt. Hermes then edits the generated project inside its isolated workspace while AppLoop streams the response and refreshes the preview.
Projects run as real Next.js applications, with separate preview processes, persistent conversations, runtime logs, themes, screenshots, and git-backed checkpoints. The goal is to combine the precision of a visual design tool with the flexibility and ownership of production-ready source code.
I would especially appreciate feedback on the visual-targeting workflow, session and checkpoint behavior, and the local-first developer experience.

Build + remix local-first → Hermes AppLoop is a local-first visual builder for Next.js applications that connects AI prompts, the running interface, selected UI elements, source code, runtime logs, and project state in one workflow.
AppLoop’s Immersive Full-Screen template just got a glow-up: a square-framed neon fabric of cyan/magenta/violet/coral/gold lines, layered noise waves, soft bloom + grain, and mouse-driven gravity ripples in dark purple space. Move the cursor. Feel the field breathe.
create/edit + conversation controls You can create new templates, edit them in place, and keep full control in chat: restore any earlier prompt or keep iterating from a checkpoint. Template authoring + conversation edit/restore, side by side.

Who hunted AppLoop?
AppLoop was hunted by Josoroma. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
