I'm Kevin from REFINE Technology. We've been building GPS ankle monitors since 2004, and CO-EYE ONE represents a fundamental rethink of how these devices should work.
The problem: Every GPS ankle monitor on the market runs GNSS + LTE 24/7, draining the battery in 24-72 hours. Officers managing 500+ monitored individuals spend 40% of their time dealing with low-battery alerts.
Our approach: We added BLE and WiFi as communication layers. When the monitored person is home with their phone or near a WiFi repeater, the device switches to ultra-low power mode. Only fires up full LTE when actually needed.
Result: 180-day battery in BLE mode. A $10 WiFi repeater eliminates cellular dead zones. Fiber-optic tamper detection means zero false alarms.
