Google's Android File Transfer hasn't been meaningfully updated in years, and the popular open-source replacement is an Electron app. Android Rapid Transfer is a native macOS rewrite: SwiftUI UI, tiny footprint, super fast Own MTP engine written in Swift (MTPKit/ARTCore) — drag-and-drop over USB, no drivers Sparkle auto-updates, direct DMG download from GitHub Releases (Linux packages too) Open source and free forever

Top comment

Hey, I'm Sameh I built this after one too many "Android File Transfer can't connect" mornings. The old Google app is abandonware and the Electron alternative felt horribly slow for a file utility, so I wrote the MTP stack in Swift and the UI in SwiftUI. Ask me anything especially keen to hear transfer-speed comparisons and device-compat reports.
