Hello everyone!!👋 I'm excited to introduce amine, a powerful unique tool designed to help you stay focused and free from distractions. I made this out of necessity. I just can't stop switching tabs while I must be doing something else! And I have found a lot of people who have faced this. Haven't you? I had tried blockers like Cold Turkey, Freedom, and RescueTime, but they lack a lot of the features I wanted. They leave you dependent upon your willpower, but Will Power is not just enough! I tried to address the things that no other tool seems to eliminate: key combinations, mouse movements to switch tabs, leaving full screen when temptation hits, etc. Although I made it for myself and some other people I know, many knowledge workers will find this helpful. Surprisingly, it already has over 100 downloads(!) and I've been getting a lot of feedbacks from the students who have used it! It also got into the front page of HackerNews on 30th Aug 😎! Over 100 stars🥳 and counting on Github! Amine covers all the extreme cases, giving you a complete solution that keeps you on track. It's a pomodoro timer + distraction blocker, both in one package. If you need any specific feature, please send request here! There are two version - Normal and Strict. The later one has no option to escape, use the one which suits you ;) Please grab the one you prefer. Amine is currently available for Windows, and I'm planning to add even more features based on your feedback. Happy focusing!

it's nice just worried with a single click chrome or brave or safari can easily make it but until they make it's cool really

So this new tool forces you to stay on one website and watches your every move, as a software expert I get the idea but isn't it going too far, it's like having a digital babysitter, don't we trust our own discipline anymore ?🚶‍♂️

So this new tool is supposed to stop people from hopping between tabs, but isn't that a bit extreme? Sounds like other tools like Cold Turkey and Freedom are less controlling, how does this handle multi-tasking, what if I need to switch tabs for legit reasons, might be useful for some but relies on it being strict enough yet flexible, thoughts?

Interesting idea, though I'm wondering if it's any better than Cold Turkey or Freedom, both of which I've tried and found kinda lacking, also why not add more customization options and support for other operating systems, anyone else feel like this?

Found this on HackerNews, tried the tool, must say forced focus sounds good in theory but not sure about monitoring all my keystrokes, feels a bit like invasion of privacy to me, any thoughts on how to make this less intrusive?

I'm not sure if we really need something that watches every move we make, might just add more stress to the workday, I get the idea behind it but some folks might find it more intrusive than helpful

Hey this sounds like a good idea for those who really struggle with distractions but forcing focus seems a bit harsh, what if it locks you out when you need a break or switch tabs for research, maybe add an option to pause without completely losing progress?

I’ve tried bunch of these focus tools over the years and honestly, they feel a bit too controlling, aren’t we supposed to learn to manage our distractions on our own, though I get that some people might need a stronger push, it just seems like putting a band-aid on a deeper problem.

Hey, loving this new tool, it's definitely something a lot of us need, especially when it's so easy to get lost in countless tabs and distractions, wondering if you could add a feature to sync with calendar apps for better time management too, keep up the great work!

Wow, I just came across this on HackerNews, sounds a bit extreme, can't imagine someone wanting their computer to force them to stay on one site, though I guess if you're really struggling to focus it might help, good luck with more downloads

Interesting concept but isn't forcing focus a bit extreme might lead to more stress than productivity curious if different modes could cater to varying levels of strictness thoughts on incorporating more user-friendly customization

This seems like a really handy tool! Just checked it out briefly, and it looks like something I could definitely use. Congrats on the launch!

Incredible launch, Amine team! This tool seems like a must-have for anyone needing a productivity boost. The no-escape strict mode is a bold feature! Are there any integrations planned with task management tools like Trello or Asana to further streamline the workflow?

@datavorous Amazing! This is exactly what I've been looking for! Any plans to add analytics or reports to track focus time and productivity over days or weeks? It would be great to see tangible progress and patterns over time.

Something I would need in my workflow. I am currently operating with too many tabs and it always distracts my productivity and focus. Good luck with your launch - you have my upvote.

This sounds super helpful, especially for someone like me who always finds a way around traditional blockers. How customizable is Amine? Can users set their own blocked websites or apps, and adjust the timer lengths? Looking forward to giving it a try! @datavorous

Congratulations on the Launch! The simplicity and effectiveness of the tool can make a significant impact on the work routine. Though I have some questions how does the blocker determine which sites or content to block, and can users customize these settings?

Congratulations!! Looks great, except for that "Get a life bruh" part. I think you can change the language there to appeal to a larger audience. All the best! 🚀

I set for a test, and I just realized how frequently I switch between tabs and software. When the mouse cursor kept jumping back to the center of the screen, I felt myself so funny. Congrats on the launch!
