Amanda
Explain any page or PDF with AI, right where you read
Amanda is an AI reading assistant that lives where you read. Select text on any page or PDF — Ask, Summarize, Explain, Translate — and the answer opens beside your reading. Screenshot any chart to ask about it. Free to try; Pro $7.99/mo or $79.99/yr.
Hey Product Hunt! I'm James. I built Amanda because I kept losing my place: reading
something dense meant copying a paragraph, pasting it into a chatbot, and scrolling
back to find where I was. Amanda fixes that. Select any text on a page or PDF and
a small bar appears right under your selection — Ask, Summarize, Explain,
Translate, Rewrite, or Fix grammar. The answer opens beside your reading. No
copy-paste, no new tab. It also does screenshot-to-AI: drag a region over a chart,
diagram, or chunk of code and ask about it. Pin the actions you use most, or use
Ctrl+Shift+K for the selection bar and Ctrl+Shift+U to capture a region. Privacy:
Amanda reads nothing until you select text and choose an action. It doesn't run in
the background, and it never stores your selected text, screenshots, or answers.
It's free to try, and Pro is $7.99/month ($79.99/year). I'd genuinely love your
brutal feedback — especially: where does the selection bar feel wrong, and what
dense page broke it?
