Allura is an AI-powered personal styling app that creates outfits based on your context, occasion, weather, activity, body shape, and personal style. Instead of telling you to buy more clothes, Allura helps you make outfits from what you already own—with options to use your wardrobe, discover new pieces, or blend both. Get personalized looks, learn from your feedback, and finally turn “I have nothing to wear” into an actual outfit.
The idea for Allura started back in college, because of a completely unexpected subject — Product Marketing and Global Licensing. Our faculty pushed us to look at everyday problems differently and ask, “If you could actually build the solution, what would you build?”
I started thinking about my own problems, and the “I have nothing to wear” problem was definitely one of them. I brainstormed it with a few girls, explored the idea, and realised it was something worth building. As I started working on it, the idea grew from simply picking clothes to understanding the context behind an outfit — where you're going, the weather, your comfort, and what you already own.
And honestly, one thought stayed with me:
If I'm a developer and I can't use what I know to solve a problem I experience myself, then what's the point of being a developer?
So after keeping this idea in my notes for years, this hackathon finally gave me the push to build it.
Allura is just the beginning. I know it's an MVP and definitely not perfect yet, so please tell me what you think — I'd genuinely love your feedback!
This is such a cool example of what can come out of a short build cycle. Loved seeing this go from an idea to something people can actually use. Congratulations to the team!
