Aligned Vote
See how your politicians actually vote, not what they say
Aligned Vote is a nonpartisan civic education tool that matches your views to how federal politicians actually vote. Answer 10 policy questions, weight what matters to you, and get every member of Congress ranked by evidence-based alignment. Every match links to the specific bills, votes, sponsorships, and FEC donors behind it. Confidence is disclosed, and thin records are shown as thin. Free, no ads, no political funding.
I built this because party label is a terrible proxy for what a politician actually does. Most voter guides either carry an ideological lean or make you self-report and trust the politician’s own answers. I wanted something that starts from the record instead.
How it works:
Answer 10 policy questions on a spectrum and weight how much each one matters to you
Get every sitting member of Congress ranked by alignment with your answers
Click any match to see the specific votes, bill sponsorships, floor statements, and FEC donors behind it
What’s under the hood: 53K bills, 1.17M individual roll-call votes, 2.4K presidential actions, and 31K FEC donation summaries from the 117th through 119th Congresses, all pulled from Congress.gov, the FEC, and the Federal Register. An LLM reads the tagged evidence and infers a position per politician per question with a confidence score. “No evidence” is always a valid answer. The system never fills a gap with a party default.
Nonpartisanship is structural, not a claim. No editorial scoring, neutral question framing, every position auditable back to the primary source. It’s a nonprofit, free, no ads, no political money.

Aligned Vote was hunted by Chase Croft. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
