I'm Jon, a full stack engineer who built Algovex solo over the past year while working a day job.
The idea came from my partner who works on Wall Street. When I showed her my backtesting platform she said something that completely changed what I was building:
"I thought I could just ask if now is a good time to buy USD given the Iran situation — and it would explain why and build me a strategy."
She was right. Every trading tool I'd seen started with charts and indicators. Nobody was starting with the investor's actual market thesis.
So I rebuilt around that idea.
Algovex pulls real data — SEC insider trading filings, FRED macro indicators, news sentiment — synthesizes it into an actual market analysis, then builds and backtests a strategy from that analysis in one click.
You can also just drag and drop your own strategy, use plain English to generate one, or paper trade your strategies with real market data going forward.
We launched 3 months ago. Over 100 users so far, all completely organic — today is literally the first time I've posted about this anywhere publicly.
One of our early users is a systematic trader in the UAE who uses the AI analyst every morning to design what he calls "Q10 strategy families" — sophisticated multi-strategy research sessions I never anticipated when I built this. That's been humbling and exciting.
