Alcove
A calm to-do list and notebook in your Mac menu bar
Alcove keeps your whole day one click away in the Mac menu bar, with iPhone and iPad apps. Press Option-Space in any app and type a task in plain words. Plan on a calendar with an hour grid or on kanban boards, keep notes whose tables total themselves, and tick tasks off from widgets. Reminders can ring like an alarm on iOS 26. Everything syncs through your own iCloud: no account, no ads, no tracking. Free for 14 days, then $29.99 once for Mac, iPhone and iPad.
Hi Product Hunt! I'm Basil, the developer behind Alcove.
Alcove is a to-do list and notebook that lives in your Mac menu bar. One click shows today, every list, the month, your notes and your boards, and Option-Space adds a task from any app in one sentence, like "Dentist Tuesday 3pm #health".
A few things I'd love you to try:
• Quick add understands dates, times, durations, repeats and lists in plain words
• Speak tasks turns a spoken ramble into separate tasks
• Boards keep each card in its list, so dropping a card in Done finishes it everywhere
• Notes with headings, checklists and tables that total themselves
• Any list, note or board can float above your other apps
• Widgets you can tick off on iPhone, iPad and the Mac desktop, and reminders that can ring like an alarm on iOS 26
There's no account, no ads and no tracking: tasks, notes and attachments sync through your own iCloud. It's free for 14 days, then $29.99 once for Mac, iPhone and iPad, with no subscription.
I'd love to hear what you think and what would make it fit your day better.

Who hunted Alcove?
Alcove was hunted by Basil. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
