Ainto is an open-source, native macOS launcher that stays small: app search, clipboard history, snippets, and AI commands for selected text. Everything is stored locally, with no telemetry and no accounts. Everything except AI commands works completely offline. AI runs through an agent CLI already on your Mac (Claude Code today), billed to your own plan, with no API key stored. Built with Swift and Rust, licensed GPL-3.0.
Hi Product Hunt!
I built Ainto because I wanted a launcher that stayed small. Many launchers gradually become productivity suites: window management, calendars, converters, cloud services, and bundled AI subscriptions. Ainto keeps only what I actually use: app search, clipboard history, snippets, and AI commands for selected text.
A few things that might interest you:
- **Local-first**: everything lives in local files (SQLite + TOML). No account, no telemetry. Everything except AI commands works completely offline.
- **AI through tools you already use**: AI commands run an agent CLI already installed on your Mac (Claude Code today), billed to your own plan. Ainto never stores an API key, and there is no server of mine in the path.
- **Native Swift + Rust**: AppKit + SwiftUI over a Rust core. No Electron, no web view.
- **GPL-3.0 open source**: the binary you get is the code on GitHub.
This is a solo project I've been daily-driving for the past three months. It's early (v0.1.x) and I'd love your feedback. Feature requests and issues welcome on GitHub!
