AI assistants can tell the time when asked—but they don't naturally understand the temporal context of a conversation. AI-Watch is a free, open-source browser extension that gives ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Mistral and other AI assistants the context they naturally lack: local time, timezone, session duration and time since your last message. 100% local. No account. No tracking. No telemetry. And yes... you can even ask your AI what it thinks about the watch you just gave it.

Top comment

Hi everyone! 👋 AI-Watch started from a simple observation. One day ChatGPT wished me "Good night"... in the middle of the morning. Of course AI can tell the current time if you ask. But that made me wonder: Why should I have to ask? Time is part of every conversation. Your local time. Your timezone. How long you've been chatting. How much time has passed since your previous message. So I built AI-Watch. It quietly gives AI assistants that missing temporal context while remaining completely local and private. I also added one feature just for fun: You can ask your AI: "What do you think about the watch I just gave you?" The answer is generated live by the AI and is often different every time. I'd genuinely love your feedback. Thanks for checking it out!

Who hunted AI-Watch?

AI-Watch was hunted by Alain Caviggia. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
