I'm Jigar, a solo indie developer from Rajkot, India — and this one's personal.
It started when I was working on a karaoke app for a client. I needed to strip vocals from tracks quickly, but every tool I tried either uploaded audio to some server, required a subscription, or was painfully slow. I just wanted something private, fast, and mine.
That frustration turned into a weekend experiment — and eventually into AI Vocal Remover.
I spent months figuring out how to run Demucs efficiently on a desktop app, wiring it into a Tauri + Rust backend, and making sure the output was actually usable — not just "vocals removed" but clean, balanced audio ready for production.
Being a solo developer from a small city in India, I couldn't rely on a big team or deep pockets. Everything — the app, the landing page, the licensing system — was built by one person, one bug at a time.
