I built AI-Tracker after noticing that customers are increasingly asking ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude which business they should choose.
Most AI visibility checks begin by supplying the company’s name. That shows whether an AI can describe the business—but not whether it would independently recommend it.
AI-Tracker takes a blind-first approach. It creates 20 realistic customer questions based on the business, industry and location without naming the business in the initial questions. It then tests them across three AI assistants, producing 60 independently measured responses.
The resulting report shows:
• Whether the business was recommended
• How often it appeared first
• Which competitors were selected
• How results differed between AI providers
• What the business should improve next
The idea grew from testing my own established business and discovering that AI recommendation visibility was measurable, but much less straightforward than traditional search rankings.
I’d especially appreciate feedback on the blind-testing methodology, the clarity of the reports and whether this is a problem other business owners are beginning to encounter.
