Hi Product Hunt 👋
I kept running into sites that felt machine-generated and had no way to be sure. Every "AI detector" I tried was itself a language model guessing, with no evidence and a different answer each time.
So I built the opposite. AI Site Check fetches the page server-side and runs 78 named rules against it: generator tags, script hosts, hosting domains, markers inside the JavaScript bundles, code hygiene, metadata and content signals. Each rule has a weight. The same input always produces the same output, and the result page shows you every rule that fired, where it matched, and the exact string — so you can verify the verdict instead of trusting it.
A few things I learned building it:
- Most AI-built sites ship an API key in their JavaScript bundle. Usually Supabase, and often without row-level security on.
- v0 quietly changed its generator tag from v0.dev to v0.app, which broke detection until I validated against live sites.
- Base44 keeps its media host and an auth token in the bundle even after you move to a custom domain.
- A Bolt or v0 project exported and hosted elsewhere leaves no marker at all. The tool says "No AI builder detected" rather than guessing, and I think that's the only honest answer.
Validated against 35 live sites: 7 Lovable, 15 across Base44/Bolt/Replit/v0, 4 classic builders, 9 hand-built. No false positives on the hand-built ones.
It's free. Happy to answer anything about the detection method, and I'd genuinely like to hear about sites where it gets the verdict wrong — there's a report button on every result.
