Most recorders give you hours of audio and no way back to what mattered. AI Lecture Recorder lets you tap a live bookmark the moment something important is said, then jump straight to it later. Recordings stay on your iPhone (local-first, no data collected), with background recording, pause/resume, trimming, and speed playback. AI transcription is optional, so you only use it when you need searchable text. Export audio along with notes, bookmarks, and transcripts.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Khang, the maker of AI Lecture Recorder.
The idea came from [my own classes / watching friends study]: we'd record a 90-minute lecture, then never listen to it again, because finding the one important part meant scrubbing through the whole thing.
So I built the app around one simple action: tap a bookmark the moment something matters. Later, you jump straight to that point instead of re-listening to everything.
A few decisions I made along the way:
🔒 Local-first: recordings stay on your iPhone. The app collects no data.
🧠 AI transcription is optional. Many recorder apps push you to the cloud by default; here, you choose when you need text.
⏱️ Built for long sessions: background recording, pause/resume, trimming, and playback speed control.
📤 Export audio together with your notes, bookmarks, and transcript.
It's free on iPhone, and I'm actively building the next version. I'd love your feedback:
- What do you record most: lectures, meetings, or interviews?
- What's the one feature that would make you switch from your current recorder?
I'll be here all day answering questions. Thanks for checking it out! 🙏
