Hi PH 👋 I'm Laszlo. Again is my pet project.
I'm mostly happy with a plain to-do app (Google Tasks, Notion, Obsidian) for most things, and Again isn't trying to replace them. The one thing none of them could handle well: dynamic recurring tasks, where the next due date keys off when you actually finished, not a fixed "every 4 weeks" on the calendar. The haircut, the AC filter, the dentist, the vitamins. A calendar is the wrong tool for those, and a habit tracker isn't ideal either. I didn't want a streak nagging me about flossing, and I'm not paying $50/year for the privilege.
So Again does that one thing well, and stays small. Three modes, one tap to log it:
• Loops: recur on your cadence ("haircut every 5 weeks"); the clock restarts when you finish.
• Dailies: daily check-offs, midnight reset.
• Tallies: plain counters, no goals.
What I wanted to prioritize:
• Local-first: it all lives on your phone, works fully offline, no login screen ever.
• No account, no email: optional sync is account-less and end-to-end encrypted; your phone holds the only key.
• Calm, not gamified: no badges, no streak-loss alerts, no nagging.
Everything on one device is free. Run it alongside whatever to-do app you already like; it fills the recurring gap, not your whole workflow.
On iPhone and Android, with a private web companion for ticking things off at a desk when you enable cross-device sync. I'd genuinely like your feedback, especially what feels too minimal vs. just right. 🙏
