I’ve always hated swiping apps.
When I first moved to San Francisco, what I really wanted was simple: a way to go out after work, meet new people, make friends, and maybe—organically—end up on a date.
Basically, I wanted to spend more time in real life and less time on my phone.
After5.pm is the app I always wished existed.
And Claude helped me build it for everyone else.
I genuinely like the idea behind this. I myself have organized 50+ local tech events and spent a lot of time building communities, so I know how different the vibe is when people actually meet in person. There’s something about those spontaneous conversations and connections that you just don’t get online. And TBH, After5.pm feels like it’s trying to bring some of that back in a simple way.
