AegisMCP is an open-source AI Agent Firewall for the Model Context Protocol (MCP). It protects sensitive resources by isolating credentials, enforcing policy-based access control, and inspecting every tool request before execution. With threat scoring, real-time monitoring, and tamper-evident audit logs, AegisMCP gives developers a secure, transparent way to deploy AI agents without exposing secrets or critical systems.
As AI agents gain access to files, databases, APIs, and developer tools, we noticed a growing security gap: agents are becoming more powerful, but the guardrails around them are still immature.
We built AegisMCP to act as a security layer between AI agents and the resources they interact with. Instead of giving agents direct access to sensitive credentials and systems, AegisMCP enforces policies, isolates secrets, scores risky actions, and provides a complete audit trail.
Our goal was simple: make AI agents safer by default without changing how developers build. We'd love feedback from developers, security engineers, and anyone working with MCP and agentic systems.
