I built ActionLock because I was tired of catching myself opening TikTok or Instagram without even thinking.
I’d tell myself “just 5 minutes,” then somehow 30–60 minutes were gone. I tried app limits, focus modes, deleting apps… but I always found a way around them.
So I started thinking: what if opening a distracting app actually cost me something?
That became ActionLock.
Now, when I want to scroll, I have to do a few push-ups, squats, or sit-ups first. And instead of exercise feeling like a chore, every rep gives me XP to build and level up my virtual character.
It’s still early, but building this has already changed the way I think about screen time.
