Acorny
Capture highlights and remember them with active recall
Your highlights should not become a dead archive. Acorny lets you capture web highlights, import highlights from Kindle, Readwise, Instapaper, Cubox, Diigo, Inoreader, Moon+ Reader, and more, then turn them into AI-generated active recall cards. Review with spaced repetition, search and tag your highlights, and sync them to your knowledge workflow.
Hey Product Hunt,
I built Acorny because I kept saving useful passages from articles, books, newsletters, and ebooks, but most of them eventually disappeared into a highlight graveyard.
I did not want to build another heavy reader app. There are already many good places to read. What I wanted was a lightweight layer after reading: capture or import the parts that matter, then actually review and remember them.
Acorny lets you capture highlights on the web, import highlights from Kindle, Readwise, Instapaper, Cubox, Diigo, Inoreader, Moon+ Reader, and more, then turn saved passages into AI-generated active recall cards. Reviews are scheduled with spaced repetition, so highlights do not just sit there as passive notes.
My goal is to make Acorny useful for people who already have a reading workflow, not to force them into a new one.
I’d love your feedback on three things:
1. Is the positioning clear: a lightweight Readwise alternative focused on memory, not a full reader?
2. Does AI-generated active recall feel useful for reviewing highlights, or does it feel unnecessary?
3. What would make this fit better into your existing workflow, especially if you use Obsidian, Kindle, or read-it-later apps?
Thanks for checking it out.
finally a use for the hundreds of kindle highlights i forgot about. the ai card generation is genuinely good, not just spitting back the quote.
